Ushering in a brand new initiative that’s set to take the UK performing arts scene by storm is London born Ricki Naqvi! In an industry where collaborations are eagerly welcomed and viewed as creative works of art, Ricki Naqvi sure does stand out in a crowd! His work reflects the rich mixture of cultures and sounds and has led him to draw inspiration from the work of Michael Jackson and Shah Rukh Khan. It is with this unique approach to performing arts that Ricki choreographs his indo fusion dance and theatre pieces…and always delivers a riveting performance. Based in the heart of London, A graduate of De Montfort University, Leicester, Ricki has majored in Media and American studies and is actively working towards a successful media career. From a young age Ricki loved the stage and loved the attention he got from an audience. His first performance was an Elvis tribute in 1st school! This gave birth to his dream of stardom! As a model, Ricki’s infectious smile, heartthrob looks and sexy physique has invited him to grace catwalks all over the UK showcasing men’s high fashion couture. He’s done several photographic modeling assignments for major brand labels and has even participated in the Mr Asia UK Pageant which positioned him 2nd runner up. With an obsessive passion for theatre, Ricki has starred in several local and international productions. He has also appeared in a Bollywood movie. He recently completed a short film for the BBC and is currently starring in Blaise Johal’s ‘Bad Karma’. When interviewed by a leading newspaper recently about his role, Ricki described it as being ‘real’; he went on to say, “The character I play is an exaggerated version of myself, I live everyday as if I am in a Bollywood movie.” He is currently filming for another project. A highly skilled dancer, Ricki loves to choreograph and dance. He’s performed on many stages throughout the country at various melas, wedding exhibitions and charity shows, showcasing Bollywood and western style dance routines. Known for his Michael Jackson moves and Shah Rukh Khan performances, Ricki repeatedly gets a standing ovation from audiences and is always welcomed back to deliver more. He is also known for his dazzling and dramatic use of props during live performances including acrobatics and magic tricks! Having completed shooting a music video for XS BASS and modeling for the PUREDESI clothes line, Ricki was invited to perform at the internationally acclaimed Zee Carnival 2009. He rocked the Kensington Olympia with his intricate dance steps and easily got the crowd to join in! He is just as skilled behind the camera, having studied film production and script writing. He enjoys mixing music and often creates the mixes used in his performances. Ricki is also one half of the dance act STYLEZ ENTERTAINMENT. He recently stepped into office as Artistic and Creative director of the Mrs India UK Pageant. This role will see Ricki take his artistic skills to the international stage. Having worked with various professionals in the industry, a hot new addition to the UK Performing arts scene, Ricki Naqvi is setting an exciting new standard for UK talent and the world alike.
